Marketplace at Write Now

From 12:30-14:30 on Friday the 9th of March, there is a free/non-ticketed event open to all in the Main Hall at the Mitchell Library, the 'home' of the Aye, Write! Glasgow's Book Festival.

Seven Submissions as of Write Now

 Write Now (March 9/10, 2012) is officially gaining momentum. We went 'live' on the University of Strathclyde intranet today, and already have had 7 abstracts/proposals submitted (thank you, thank you, lovely writery people), so I am hopeful that we will get many more before our deadline of 15/12/2011. We'd like to hear from anyone with an interest in creative writing, from novices to teachers of creative writing. And we really do mean that-- the diversity of the presentations at our first Write Now conference was what made it so engaging and inclusive. Contact Bryony Stocker (bryony.stocker@strath.ac.uk) to submit an abstract or proposal. I am also happy to respond to questions (mary.clark@strath.ac.uk).

The Last Court of Appeal

Eamonn O'Neill will be reading from his forthcoming novel, The Last Court of Appeal, on 3/6/11, at the Write Now Creative Writing Conference at the University of Strathclyde. Eammon is a lecturer in Journalism at the University of Stathclyde, works as investigative journalist, and has previously authored 3 non-fiction works. Apart from being rather illustrious company, Eamonn also likes a good chin-wag (source who refused to be named; I'm prepared to remain silent, since I retain my 5th Amendment rights). There is still time to send Bryony Stocker an abstract; please see the CFP (in either PDF or Word format). We also welcome volunteers for a free reading of works in progress taking place in the evening after the conference is over.
