Booking is now open for Write Now 2012! Places are limited, and sessions are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Book now, and receive the discounted early bird rate - £75 / £50 (students). Just go to: http://onlineshop.strath.ac.uk/. You will see a listing on the right-hand side of the page for 'Conferences and Events'. Click on 'Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty'. This will take you to a page with a heading on the left-hand side that says 'Research and Knowledge Exchange,' and you will find a listing for Write Now 2012 underneath it.
The short version: Click on http://onlineshop.strath.ac.uk/ > Conferences and Events > Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty > Research and Knowledge Exchange > Write Now 2012. See? Submitting an abstract to Bryony Stocker (bryony.stocker@strath.ac.uk) will be a doddle after all of that. The call for papers closes on 15/12/11.
The Write Now Conference has been expanded this year, and will take place over two days as part of Glasgow's Aye, Write! Book Festival in March 2012.
Day 1 is a ‘Skills Day,' with sessions aimed at helping participants to improve their writing and market their work effectively. These will be led by experienced novelists Sara Sheridan, Nicola Morgan and Helen Fitzgerald, along with screenwriter Sergio Casci. Our keynote speaker is Christopher Brookmyre. Another innovation for 2012 is ‘The Marketplace’ which will showcase independent publishers and Scotland-based magazines that provide an outlet for new writers.
